Dear Fr. Kubala,

Please accept my personal thanks to you and your parish community for sending us the lovely flowers in remembrance of the anniversary of Juan

Pulido’s entry into eternal life. The flowers were a gift to the entire University of St. Thomas community and were used as a centerpiece for a memorial in Juan’s honor held at our campus ministry house.

Additionally, our Office of International Student Services and others on our campus have organized an effort to honor Juan’s memory by setting up a fund for the purchase of books in Latin American and Cuban literature. The books will become part of our library collection, and a bookplate with a dedication to Juan will be placed in each volume.

We are also planning a plaque to memorialize Juan’s life, his many talents as a writer and poet, and his time with us.

Again, thank you for the flowers and your very moving note. I hope you will share news of our remembrances with Juan’s parents, Carlos and Elisa. Our prayers and our love will always be with you.

Sincerely,

Reverend Dennis Dease

President
